Exclusive video: Inside the Roosevelt Field Mall moments after shooting during attempted robbery

GARDEN CITY, Long Island (WABC) -- Exclusive video obtained by Eyewitness News shows the scene inside the Roosevelt Field Mall moments after a shooting happening inside the busy shopping center.

The video shows people running outside the Rolex store, where police said a single shot was fired during an attempted robbery.

According to Nassau County police, the bullet struck a 67-year-old mall employee who was outside the store. In the video, you can see people jumping in to help the victim, who was shot in the back of his shoulder.

The ordeal caused panic to ensue in the mall, and people stampeded out of the mall or into hiding places inside stores.

Police said he's in serious but stable condition.

The suspected robber and gunman was taken into custody immediately outside the store by a security guard.
