Atlanta Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu agreed to a four-year, $62 million contract extension, his agent Sam Goldfeder of Excel Sports Management told ESPN on Monday.
Okongwu was the 14th and final player from the 2020 NBA draft class to finalize his rookie scale extension ahead of Monday's 6 p.m. ET deadline.
Okongwu averaged 9.9 points and 7.2 rebounds for the Hawks a year ago, including averaging double figures in 13 of his final 15 regular season games. He was the No. 6 overall pick in the draft out of Southern California.
The Hawks did not reach a rookie contract extension with forward Saddiq Bey and he'll be among the top players in restricted free agency next summer, along with New York's Immanuel Quickley, Chicago's Patrick Williams,Indiana's Obi Toppin and Detroit's James Wiseman, sources said.
Okongwu ranked in the top five of offensive rebounding percentage and second-chance points after Quin Snyder's hiring as Hawks coach last season, per ESPN Stats & Information research.
