TOTTENVILLE (WABC) -- A Staten Island Rapid Transit train struck the emergency stop barrier at the end of the line in Tottenville and derailed Thursday morning.
The incident happened at Arthur Kill Road and Bentley Street just after 6:30 a.m.
Two crew members sustained minor injuries when the train hit the bumper. There were no passengers on board at the time.
MTA officials responded to the Tottenville station for the investigation.
As a result, Staten Island Rapid Transit service was suspended between Tottenville and Pleasant Plains for most of the day.
Service resumed just before 4:00 p.m.
