NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- Police are investigating a pair of subway stabbings across two boroughs that added to an already violent night in New York City, where six people were shot and three others stabbed since 10 p.m. Monday.

The first stabbing incident happened around 2:20 a.m. in Brooklyn, when a pair of muggers attacked a 30-year-old man who refused to give them money during a holdup on a southbound Q train near Flatbush Avenue and Ocean Avenue in Prospect Lefferts Gardens. The victim was stabbed in the head and stomach and was rushed to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.

They first boarded the train at the Atlantic Avenue station and approached a 50-year-old rider who complied with their demands. After the stabbing, the suspects, described as Hispanic men in their 20s, fled the train at the Prospect Park station. A broken knife and black baseball cap were recovered in the subway car.

The suspects were both were wearing white T-shirts and black pants, and both had tattoos. One had tattoos on both hands, while the other had them on both arms. One of the men also had a pony tail.

Then, just before 4 a.m., two 18-year-old men were stabbed on a southbound No. 4 train at the East 116th Street Station at Lexington Avenue following a verbal dispute that escalated. One victim was taken to St. Luke's Hospital and the other to Harlem Hospital. Both are expected to survive. Two suspects fled the station and no arrests have been made.

The suspects were headed from the Bronx to Manhattan and were described as black males about 5-foot-7. One was one wearing a yellow shirt and beige shorts, and the other was wearing a dark shirt and sneakers.

No arrests were made in either incident.

As for the shootings, eight people were struck, two fatally, in six separate incidents.

The first deadly shooting happened at 2:20 a.m. inside an apartment on 49th Street in Brooklyn, where a man was hit in the neck. The 20-year-old was rushed to Lutheran Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Then, at 3:15 a.m. on Georgia Avenue and Linden Boulevard in the East New York section of Brooklyn, an 18-year-old carjacking suspect was shot in the head by the man he was apparently trying to rob. The suspect was pronounced dead at the hospital, and a second carjacking suspect fled the scene. CLICK HERE to read more about this shooting incident.

Three people, two women and a man, were shot at East 96th and Avenue M around 10 p.m. This group appears to have just left a party and were a few blocks away at the time. One woman was struck in the arm, while other was grazed on the leg. The man was shot in the back. All three were taken to Brookdale Hospital and are expected to survive.

A man suffered non life-threatening injuries when he was shot in the leg outside of a building on West 126th Street in Manhatanville around 2 a.m., and another male was wounded in the thigh on West 204th Street. He was taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition.

Finally, another man was shot in the leg around 2:15 a.m. at Amsterdam Avenue and LaSalle. He was taken to a local hospital, where he is expected to be OK.
