Soldier surprises son at Indiana elementary school

VALPARAISO, Indiana -- Christmas came early for a northwest Indiana boy whose soldier father was stationed overseas.

Jayden Moree is a kindergartener at Paul Saylor Elementary School, but he didn't know that his father, Staff Sergeant Trevor Moree, was a surprise guest speaker Monday.

Sgt. Moree said he doesn't want to miss another moment with his son.

"I missed his first birthday," he said. "I missed his first day of school. I always had to do my job. I had training, deployments I had to fulfill. It just caused me to miss most of everything. But I'm here now."

Jayden shared the surprise with his younger brother and sister.
