Democrat Emily Gregory has won a special election for a Florida state House seat, flipping a district that is home to President Donald Trump's estate, Mar-a-Lago.
The Department of Justice on Thursday moved to appeal a federal judge's ruling in the dispute over documents seized from Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, where the government claims highly classified records were being improperly held.
"The shameful raid and break-in of my home Mar-a-Lago was a travesty of justice," Trump said of the search. "The FBI and the Justice Department have become vicious monsters."
Graham's comments came at a time when Trump supporters' threats against law enforcement have escalated.
The Justice Department has identified "a limited set of materials" from its search of documents taken from Mar-a-Lago that potentially contain material covered by attorney-client privilege, it said in a court filing Monday.
Former President Donald Trump allegedly had more than 700 pages of classified material in his possession, according to a May 10 letter from the National Archives to a lawyer representing Trump.
