2 NYPD cops injured in Bruckner Expressway wreck

BRONX, N.Y. (WABC) -- Two New York City Police Department officers are being treated for injuries after their car was hit on the Bruckner Expressway.

Around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Mott Haven section of Bronx, the officers were stopped on the road investigating a separate crash when another driver crashed into the cruiser.

A couple of lanes were closed for about three hours.

The officers were taken to Jacobi Medical Center and are expected to recover.

The driver of the car that hit the cruiser also is being treated.
