Train hits car on LIRR tracks in Hewlett

HEWLETT, N.Y. (WABC) -- The Long Island Rail Road's Far Rockaway Branch service is restored in both directions due a train hitting a vehicle on the tracks.

A LIRR train struck a car at the West Broadway crossing in Hewlett just after 4:30 p.m.

The driver appears to not be seriously hurt.
