MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) -- An active investigation is underway after an Uber driver was stabbed during an apparent road rage incident in Midtown Manhattan Thursday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to West 50th Street, between Sixth Avenue and Seventh Avenue, just before 4 p.m.
Paramedics were treating a man at the scene.
A witness said the victim is an Uber driver who was stabbed in the arm. The attacker reached into the driver's window, stabbed the man and ran away with the knife in hand.
Police said the attacker then got into a gray van with New York license plate HLY7786 and sped away.
The Uber driver has non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Traffic on West 50th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues is shut down while police investigate.
