Hurricane Hermine has made landfall in Florida, just east of St. Marks, spinning winds of 80 mph and dumping heavy rain.

The Category One hurricane is the first to make landfall in Florida, since 2005, when Hurricane Wilma roared ashore.

Parts of Florida's Gulf Coast are dealing with a powerful storm surge and many communities are dealing with flooding.

The storm is expected to move up the East Coast over the next few days and could impact the NYC area over the Labor Day weekend.
