Thursday is National Vietnam Veterans Day

In 2012, President Barack Obama signed a presidential proclamation declaring March 29, 2012 Vietnam Veterans Day.

Now each year on March 29, Vietnam vets are honored.

March 29 is also the day in 1973 that the final troops returned to the U.S. from Vietnam, marking the end of U.S. involvement in the war.
