Snowfall totals: How much snow fell across NY area
NEW YORK (WABC) -- The first winter storm of the season dumped several inches of snow on New York City and the Tri-State area, and Friday's rain melted much of it away.
As the nor'easter moved away, though, the colder air changed the rain back to a mix or all snow in some places. Driving conditions remained hazardous all morning.
Skies began to clear by afternoon, although windy conditions remained.
Party sunny skies are expected through the weekend with highs in the 40s and lows in the 30s.
Final word on the first winter storm: more than a half foot of snow fell in Central Park - the biggest one day November snowfall recorded there in 136 years - while Mount Hope in Orange County reported more than 18 inches.
