Fire breaks out in lobby of Whitney Museum
The FDNY rushed to put out a fire on Thursday night in the lobby of the Whitney.

WEST VILLAGE, Manhattan (WABC) -- The FDNY rushed to put out a fire on Thursday night in the lobby of the Whitney.

Crews arrived at the scene on 99 Gansevoort Street in the West Village outside the museum's landmark building.

The fire remained small, but it took about 40 minutes to get flames under control.

There was nobody inside the museum when the fire started.
