WYANDANCH, N.Y. (WABC) -- An ice cream man arrested Wednesday in Suffolk County and accused of sexually abusing a child pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Thursday.
Muhammad Chaudhry, 63, of Middle Village, was arrested in Wyandanch, and has been charged with sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
His bail is set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond. His next court date is June 10.
According to a statement from the Suffolk County Police Department, Chaudhry was operating his ice cream truck in Wyandanch on May 21 around 7:25 p.m. when an 11-year-old girl approached the truck. Police said Chaudhry fondled the child.
Chaudhry is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on June 5.
