Giant letters that spelled "Yankee Stadium" on original park fail to sell at auction

NEW YORK -- The giant letters that spelled "Yankee Stadium" atop the original Bronx ballpark have failed to find a buyer at an auction in New York.

They were estimated to for between $300,000 and $600,000 at Sotheby's Wednesday night.

Yankee legend Reggie Jackson bought the iconic 10-foot-high sign after the Yankees' last game at the stadium in 2008.
