Hebrew academy catches fire in Monsey

A fire broke out at a Hebrew academy in Monsey on Tuesday.Authorities say Town of Ramapo Police received a call of a possible structure fire at the Adolph Schreiber Hebrew Academy at 70 Highview Road just after 3 a.m.

Upon arrival, responding officers observed heavy smoke coming from the building.

The Tallman Fire Department responded to the scene, along with the Suffern and Monsey departments.

Officials say the fire may have started in a storage area on the west side of the complex.

The Town of Ramapo Police Detective Bureau responded, along with Rockland County Sheriffs BCI/Arson Unit.

Investigator say the fire has not been deemed suspicious, but the investigation is continuing.

There were no reported injuries.
