Man accused of attacking girlfriend's cats

LONG ISLAND Suffolk County police arrested 24-year-old David Wrigley, of Selden, for seriously injuring his girlfriend's two cats.

The girlfriend reportedly contacted Brookhaven Town Humane investigators and told them that she believed her boyfriend had intentionally hurt her two cats at her home at 48 Highview Avenue.

Police officers determined that Wrigley lost his temper on February 23 and struck, grabbed and squeezed the two cats.

The woman took her pets to a veterinarian, where one of the cats succumbed to its injuries. The other cat was treated and subsequently released.

Wrigley, of 43 Virginia Court in Sayville, was arrested and charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.
