NY Statue of Liberty ferry runs aground

No injuries reported
NEW YORK There were no passengers on board and there are no reports of injuries.

The Coast Guard says the Gold Sunshine ferry ran aground at 11:15 a.m. Monday. The ferry is run by Statue Cruises and takes passengers between Manhattan and Liberty Island, where the Statue of Liberty is located.

Petty Officer Angelia (An juh LEE uh) Rorison says the ferry was leaving the north side of Liberty Island when it ran aground.

There's no immediate word on the cause.
