St. Patrick's ready to celebrate with Pope

Mass will be celebrated Saturday morning
NEW YORK The Pope will be going to the U.N., Park East Synagogue, and St. Joseph's on Friday, a day before going to Saint Patrick's to celebrate mass.

In attendance will be priests, deacons and nuns and other members of special religious orders.

The NYPD is preparing for massive crowds as barricades are already in place to control the flow of spectators expected to descend on the cathedral Saturday morning.

"A very big police presence here, and there's a great curiosity though and a big preparation at St. Patrick's Cathedral," said a worker at the church.

Expect a heavy security prescence. The Pope's visit is something the NYPD and Secret Service have been getting ready for, months in advance.

"It will be just a privilege to be in the presence," says one tourist.

There will be throngs of people to get a look of the Pope.

There will also be jumbotrons set up near Rockefeller Center.
