Vandals strike at a Long Island elementary school in Setauket. Suffolk County Police say Nassakeag Elementary School was broken into between 2 and 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Police say an electronic fire alarm triggered a response from the Setauket Fire Department about 5 p.m. No fire was found, but the inside of the building, specifically furniture and musical equipment, were in disarray.

Officials found a piano tossed off a stage in a music room and its wiring cut. There are also reports that the windows and other furniture was damaged. Police say the school's fire extinguishers had been discharged throughout rooms too.

Suffolk County say they don't know if anything was stolen and are still looking into whether any video cameras captured the vandalism.
