Teen murdered in Newark

The child's family wants some answers
NEWARK His family says he was shot four times last night and they have no idea who would want to kill him.

The boy, identified by his mother as John Warren, was reportedly running to his Seymour Avenue house when he was shot just after 1:15 a.m. this morning.

Eyewitness News is told the teen was shot in the head and rushed to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

His mother said the boy was outside and running to the front door of his house when he was shot. Now she is dealing with the loss of her only child.

"Who ever did it, you're not going to be happy with the rest of your life like that, after shooting somebody else's...I don't care, even if he had done something wrong to you, find a different way than killing each other," the victim's mother said.

The gunman fled the scene and no arrests were immediately made.
