Collection for couple expecting sextuplets

New York City Councilman Tony Avella on Tuesaday announced the start of a collection drive to benefit Whitestone couple Victor and Digna Carpio, who are expecting sextuplets within the next two months."It is absolutely my pleasure to work with the Carpio family and try to assist them in any way possible before the birth of their sextuplet," Avella said. "I encourage all New Yorkers to stop by my district office throughout the month of October to donate much needed baby supplies."

The Carpios, who also have an 8-year-old son, provided the following list of much-needed supplies:

  • Pampers
  • Milk
  • Baby bottles
  • Baby wipes
  • Undershirts
  • Blankets
  • Towels
  • Sheets
  • Strollers
  • Car seats
  • Highchairs
  • Cribs

    "I would just like to say I am very appreciative of the help that Councilman Avella is providing by reaching out to New Yorkers and local businesses," Victor Carpio said. "We are very grateful for all of this."

    Avella will also be reaching out to local businesses and major department stores to help donate some bigger ticket items that may be beneficial to the family.
