Mortgage attorney found shot to death

COMMACK, N.Y. Police in Suffolk County say a man found lying in a Commack restaurant parking lot Monday afternoon had been shot in the head.

The victim was identified as 44-year-old mortgage attorney James J. Di Martino, of Nesconset.

Police say the man was murdered around 3 p.m. outside Sil La Joung on Route 25. The 911 caller was a woman who made a wrong turn and discovered Di Martino lying in a pool of blood.

By the time authorities arrived, they say there was little or no trace of the gunman.

They say Di Martino died three hours later.
