Free and cheap holiday fun

NEW YORK Bloomberg held a press conference Monday to draw attention to cultural institutions, performances and activities open to all.

Among the options on the mayor's list are:

- live jazz and a "poetry jam" at the Brooklyn Museum, for free.

- a post-turkey "super hike" through the trails of Van Cortlandt Park, for free.

- ice skating at rinks around the city, for $13 or less.

- pay-as-you-wish Wednesdays at the Bronx Zoo, featuring a new Madagascar exhibit.

- Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa storytelling at the Brooklyn Public Library.

- an exhibition by Jenny Holzer illuminating the Guggenheim, for free.
