Livery driver found shot to death

ELMONT, Long Island Michael Xavier, of Commack, was killed while working as a night driver for Long Island Checker Cab Co. of New Hyde Park.

He was found fatally shot just before 9 a.m. Saturday morning at the corner of Murray Hill Street and Holland Avenue.

The cab he had been driving was found in New York City.

No arrests were immediately made.

Nassau County Police asked anyone with information on the death to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
