Body found in South Orange neighborhood

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. The partially nude body of a 25-year-old Newark resident had been dumped along South Stanley Road.

Police said the victim had been missing for nearly two weeks.

A man returning home from work saw the lifeless victim's body in his neighbor's driveway.

The block where the body was dropped is quiet and peaceful. It's in the eastern part of South Orange and sits three-tenths of a mile from Seton Hall and just a few blocks from the Newark border.

The body was discovered Thursday evening. Residents say they saw a suspicious blue car in the area that sped away, but they were surprised by what was apparently left behind.

The resident who lives where the body was found apparently had no connection to the victim who had been beaten and suffered a gun shot wound to the head.
