Authority spokesman Joe Orlando said most of the jobs being eliminated are toll collector positions, adding that dozens of those slots are currently unfilled. He said the remaining jobs will be cut through attrition.
In approving the budget on Wednesday, the agency's Board of Commissioners also announced that it will cut overtime, reduce the number of vehicles assigned to employees from 202 to 52 and lower discretionary spending to reduce controllable operating expenditures by 2 percent.
