Taxi driver shot and killed in NJ

ORANGE, NJ One of the victims is the son of a city councilman.

Hassan Miller was pronounced dead after being shot in the head three times. He was set to turn 25 in March.

"He loved working, and even though he was working the hours when he shouldn't have been, he just wanted extra money," said Teresa Miller.

Miller was shot three times in the head after picking up a fare, shortly after 2 a.m.

"To hate somebody so much that you would should them three times...You definitely wanted my son dead," added the mom.

Miller worked at Eagle Taxi Service for about a month. Miller's boss had warned his drivers not to pick up fares past the 10 p.m. quitting time, because it was too dangerous.

Miller's father is Orange councilman Hassan Abdul Rasheed.

The Essex counties Prosecutor says one of Miller's friends was in the car at the time of the shooting, he was not shot but he was injured.

That victim is said to be helping police with the investigation.
