MTA to hold emergency meeting

NEW YORK The financially-strapped transit agency has an emergency meeting today now that it appears more and more likely there will be no rescue bailout from Albany.

The agency's doom and gloom scenario includes severe service cuts and higher fares if state lawmakers do not approve a plan to provide critical funding.

Part of the agency's revenue generating plan calls for tolls to cross the Harlem and East River bridges.
