Man wanted in NJ credit card scam

CLIFTON, N.J. Surveillance video from March 12th at the Ikea store in Elizabeth helped break the case wide open. Police say it shows two men are seen making purchases using stolen credit card information. Tape from another store shows a different man buying 400 dollars worth of gift cards on yet another bogus credit at a CVS in Livingston, New Jersey.

Police say both incidents have one thing in common. All of the suspects allegedly got the cards from 27-year old Duywon Britton. He's accused of making the fake cards using stolen credit card numbers.

"He would have some kind of method to re-create the stripe on the credit card," said Clifton Police Detective Robert Anderson.

Police only found out about the scheme when they were inundated with phone calls.

"Earlier this month, we started getting calls from people who noticed discrepancies on their credit card statements," said Clifton Police Captain Robert Rowan.

Detectives later found out that all the victims had eaten recently at the UNO Chicago Grill on Route 3 in Clifton. They say they also had the same waitress, 22-year old Quanisha Footman. She allegedly memorized the credit card numbers and expiration dates.

Footman was fired from UNO Chicago Grill and arrested but police are still trying to track down Britton. He's wanted for credit card fraud and identity theft. Police claim his scam may have cost his victims at least $5,000 in purchases.

Police are advising anyone who visited the restaurant recently and you used their credit or debit card to pay for a meal, to check their statement for fraudulent charges. If you find any, contact the Clifton police department.
