A man was rescued after plunging down a steep cliff and getting caught in a tree in North Bergen. The victim was taking pictures with two friends when he lost of his balance and fell down a cliff just after midnight.

The man tumbled 25 to 30 feet and landed in a tree, where he got stuck.

Police and emergency rescuers responded to frantic calls from his friends. It took more than an hour to find the victim.

After they finally found him, he was rescued. He was rushed by helicopter to Hackensack University Medical Center with multiple injuries.

Authorities said he climbed a three-foot high fence and was taking pictures next to the cliff when he fell.
