The 11-week-old was suffering from flu-like symptoms when his family put him down for a nap.
When they went to go check on him, the baby appeared to be unconscious. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The family tells the Daily News that the Health Department told them the baby died of the swine flu, but the Medical Examiner has not determined if that was the cause.
About 130 New Yorkers have been hospitalized since the outbreak began.
Eight schools reopened Monday after being closed for the flu. However, eight more remained closed.
