June 17, 2009 2:20:44 PM PDT
A 21-year-old Ossining man was arrested by Peekskill police Wednesday after a local homeowner identified Eduardo Lazcano as the man who broke into his McGuire Avenue house. The victim identified Lazcano by his obviously dyed hair, which is a very unnatural shade of red.

According to police, the break in took place about 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The homeowner was asleep at the time.

Sounds from the basement alerted him that someone was in his house. He confronted Lazcano, who fled with camera and computer equipment.

Peekskill police broadcast Lazcano's description. He was spotted getting off a bus in the Village of Ossining. Lazcano was charged with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny.

Lazcano was remanded to the Westchester County Jail pending a future court appearance. The stolen equipment was recovered.
