Yearbook returned after 30 years

SOMERVILLE, N.J. Joyce Holly was a 16-year-old North Brunswick High School sophomore when she left her yearbook in a park more than 30 years ago.

She called to see if anyone had found it, but no one had turned it in.

The yearbook was found by park police who turned it over to the Somerset County Sheriff's Office in 1984. That's where Capt. Jeffrey Thompson tried to find the owner.

Online searches turned up nothing because Holly started using Jaye as her first name.

Thompson, who retired Friday, managed to finally locate the 47-year-old Delmar, N.Y., resident who works at the State University of New York at Albany.
