Police say the boy, Axel Pablo, was crossing the street with his mother and baby sister when he was struck by the cab. The cab driver called 911 to report the accident and was not charged.
Axel's mother could be seen sitting in a police car after her son was hit. The boy was eating a slice of pizza as he crossed 112th street when he was run over.
They say Axel was pronounced dead about a half hour later at a nearby hospital.
Police say it was an accident.
