NJ Transit launches redesigned Web site

NJ Transit has redesigned its Web site to offer customers quicker access to information with fewer mouse clicks beginning Wednesday. The streamlined site allows passengers to view the color-coded "on time" status of all rail, light rail and bus lines from the home page.

A trip planner, that integrates Google maps, also will be available on the home page.

DepartureVision, which displays train departure boards on mobile devices, will be available at most stations. Passengers can see arrival times, track assignments and the train's status. It will be added to New York's Penn Station and Hoboken in the future.

NJ Transit executive director Richard Sarles says extra attention was paid to improve the most popular areas of the Web site.
