Jasmina's meeting with Obama postponed

WASHINGTON The cancer-stricken girl was hospitalized in Washington for an apparent seizure.

Jasmina, who is from Grenwich Village, was taken by her mother to Children's Hospital in Washington, hours before she was to meet with President Obama. She was also to attend the ceremonial pardoning of the first turkey.

She was doing better until recently, when reports say her red blood cell count dropped and she was diagnosed with Type-2 diabetes. It was not immediately known how long she would be staying in the hospital.

Jasmina received her leukemia diagnosis back on January 20, 2009, the same day that Obama was inaugurated.

The Make-a-Wish Foundation set up the meeting with the President. Officials said it would be postponed for another date.
