NYPD officers injured in East Side collision

A police cruiser collided with a car on the East Side this morning, sending two police officers to the hospital. The vehicles reportedly collided at the intersection of Second Avenue and East 59th Street just before 2:45 a.m.

Eyewitness News is told two police officers were treated for neck and back injuries.

They were taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Police say the driver of the other vehicle was interviewed at the scene. No charges were immediately filed.
