New York IG to probe Aqueduct racino deal

ALBANY State Inspector General Joseph Fisch tells the Daily News he has opened a probe into the selection of the Aqueduct Entertainment Group to run the operation.

The state concession could be worth millions of dollars.

The AEG group included two partners with longtime connections to top lawmakers in Albany.

One of those partners is the Rev. Floyd Flake, a former congressman who was a mentor to Senate President Malcolm Smith.

Gov. David Paterson said he welcomed the review and AEG officials said they have nothing to fear.
