A large and stubborn brush fire burned through four acres on Staten Island. The fire broke out inside Great Kills Park on Tuesday afternoon.

Officials expressed some concern that the four-alarm fire might spread to homes near the park, but there were no evacuations or injuries.

An NYPD helicopter was called in to help tackle the flames.

Officers filled up buckets of water from the ocean, and then dropped that water on the fire.

Investigators were still trying to determine what sparked the fire.
