"If you watch this with an open heart, I feel like you maybe walk away calling someone that you might have lost a long time ago, someone that you might have a grudge or not the open relationship with and that was really important," said Miley Cyrus.
In "The Last Song," Miley Cyrus plays a teenager forced to spend the summer with her father. She may be there against her will, but where there's a will, there's a potential love interest.
Miley and her leading man, Liam Hemsworth, are now a couple. I tried to ask her dad about his 17-year-old daughter's big-screen kiss.
"He did not answer the kiss at all," said Tish Cyrus, Miley's mother.
"Hey, I learned to dance, man. I danced around it," said Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley's father.
Liam credits his parents for his success.
"We're very proud of him," said Leonie Hemsworth, Liam's mother. "We saw the film last week in Melbourne and it was fantastic."
"They're the best parents in the world, honestly," said Liam. "They're so good. That's the reason I'm here, because of my parents."
When it comes to Miley's family, meet "Mammy," her grandma.
"When she was little, she kept getting on the coffee table and performing and I kept telling my daughter, Letishia, I said, 'You've got to get her on the stage!'"
"Oh, my grandma? Oh, she is the fiercest person I know! That is all I know. She is my inspiration and my fashion icon," said Miley.
"The Last Song" is rated PG. It hits theaters on March 31.
