NJ Transit resumes out of Penn Station

NEW YORK Service was suspended after the problems started around 4:30 p.m.

The outage has caused major problems for commuters. PATH was cross-honoring at 33rd Street, Newark and Hoboken. NJ TRANSIT and private carrier buses are cross-honoring in/out of Port Authority Bus Terminal.

The outage was repaired around 5:30 p.m., but problems remained. Delays up to an hour were reported.

LIRR was also reporting 15-20 minute delays on trains out of Penn Station with some canceled trains as a result of the signal problems.

Westbound service to Penn Station was stopping in Jamaica until about 5:30 p.m.

Amtrak expected residual delays through the evening rush hour.
