Since artcycle.com doesn't have a shop it can save on costs. It also doesn't take as large of a commission as most auction houses or dealers and those savings get passed on to both the buyer and the seller.
It's an unintimidating way of getting into the art world. And for collectors it's an easy way of unloading something they've grown out of.
