Police in Connecticut say they've caught the suspect in the abduction and beating of a Shelton convenience store clerk. Shelton police charged 24-year-old Justin Bonner of Stratford with first-degree kidnapping and first-degree assault Wednesday morning. He's being held in lieu of $750,000 bail.

Authorities allege Bonner abducted the 46-year-old female clerk early Tuesday morning from the Cumberland Farms store on River Road and severely beat her. Police say the woman later showed up at a home a few miles from the store asking for help.

Police say she's hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators say they received numerous tips after releasing a photo of the suspect from store surveillance video.

It's not clear if Bonner has a lawyer.
