Police say a Long Island man arrested for drunken driving caused a three-vehicle accident that ejected a 5-year-old from one of the cars.

Nassau County police say 60-year-old Kevin Roberts was driving westbound on Hempstead Turnpike when his Oldsmobile collided with an eastbound Toyota.

The impact pushed the Toyota into a Honda and then a metal pole.

The 5-year-old girl, who police say was not belted in, was ejected from the Toyota.

The driver and four other passengers in the Toyota were evaluated at a hospital. The 5 year old was listed in stable condition.

Roberts, of Franklin Square, faces aggravated driving while intoxicated and other charges when he is arraigned in Hempstead on Wednesday.
