Lightning strikes home, causes 4-alarm fire

LINDEN, NJ

The lightning struck a building on East Elizabeth Avenue shortly before 10 a.m. on Sunday.

The flames broke out in a two-story building which contains some apartments and a dance studio.

The fire took about an hour to contain.

Five engines and ladder trucks were all sent to the scene.

One firefighter was treated at Rahway hospital for minor injuries and was released.

Several residents were reportedly displaced by the fire.
