$60,000 stolen from Diamond District store

MANHATTAN

The crooks tied up two workers and took off with more than $60,000 worth of cash and jewelry.

It was around 2 p.m. and there plenty of tourists, shoppers and even police all around the Diamond District. Someone apparently buzzed the robbers in to the second-floor store, Namat Incorporated.

Then, police say one of the suspects pulled a gun and forced the owner to open up a safe. After that, the robbers tied up the owner and his son before reportedly stealing the cash and jewelry.

They then made a run for it.

The owner and the son were able to free themselves and call 911. Police arrived and started searching the area, asking anyone if they had seen the suspects. They are also searching for surveillance video from the both the store and the street.

No arrests have been made.
