Stand Up Paddleboarding

NEW YORK

First up is something you can do on the weather and you don't have to be that athletic.

UrbanDaddy is an online magazine for men and the women who love them.

Justin Rocket Silverman is the New York editor of UrbanDaddy, and one of his new favorite activities takes place on the Hudson.

"SUP most people have never heard of it," he said. Stand Up Paddle Boarding, or SUP, is "pretty much a cross between surfing and outrigger canoe," adds Silverman.

First you are given the run through on land, and then it's out to the Hudson River to try it out.

The Hudson is pretty clean these days and that's why more and more water sports are taking place there.

To stay up on the board, you need to keep your knees bent, and you want to keep moving in the right direction.

Depending on ferry traffic there can be some significant waves.

Enjoying the view and the workout along Pier 40, stand up paddle boarding offering perhaps the new best way to enjoy Manhattan.
