Two arrested in murder of Queens man

Two suspects were arrested and charged in the murder of a superintendent discovered on a dead end street in the Ozone Park section of Queens.

Police arrested 21-year-old Deevan Jagnarine and 19-year-old Alex Gobardhan and charged them with murder and robbery in the death of 58-year-old Ramnariain Matadin.

Matadin's body was found Tuesday morning and had sustained a wound to the back of the head.

Police say Jagnarine worked for Royal Cab Service and picked up the victim from a bar, before the attack.

District Attorney Brown said that,the suspects are accused of punching the victim in the face and robbing him of his cell phone, wallet, and gold bracelet.

According to the medical examiner's office, the cause of death has been determined to be cardiac arithmic and blunt trauma of the head.

The District Attorney further stated that, pursuant to two search warrants executed today, a gold bracelet was recovered from defendant Jagnarine's home and a cell phone was recovered from defendant Gobardhan's home.
