Police say the man was struck on Oenoke Ridge Road in New Canaan near the New York line shortly after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. His name hasn't been released yet. Officials say he was pronounced dead at Norwalk Hospital less than two hours later.
Authorities say they found a side-view mirror at the scene and believe the car that struck the man was a high-end General Motors vehicle. Police say the car was headed toward the New York line at the time, and New York state police are helping local investigators.
Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call New Canaan police.
